Palappam is a type of South Indian pancake made with fermented rice batter and coconut milk. The coconut milk is sweetened with jaggery and flavored with cardamom powder. It is eaten most frequently for breakfast or tea time. Nowadays people make it quite often at home but in the olden days, it was made only for celebrations.
